Death toll rises to 10 after Russian missile targets Odesa center

Civilians, a healthcare worker and a police officer are among 10 killed people in Odesa after a Russian missile hit the city center on Monday. According to reports, 39 people were injured with three children rushed to hospitals in moderate condition. Thirty people were hospitalized with various injuries. The strike also wounded 14 police officers.
Medical teams are working on the scene to save lives, after first responders have provided immediate aid to those who suffered injuries. Emergency services and law enforcement continue to document the attack’s aftermath and assess the destruction caused by the missile.
The Odesa City Council reported that a Russian Orlan-10 reconnaissance drone conducted surveillance over the city just minutes before the missile strike that came moment after, at 11 57 am. Intercepted by Ukrainian air defense, the Iskander-M missile debris fell in a residential area of the Prymorskyi district, causing significant damage and casualties.
“This intercepted enemy missile brought tragedy to a residential neighborhood in Odesa. Our deepest condolences go out to the families of the victims,” read a statement from officials.
