Ukrainian parliament OKs launch of unified military registry

On December 18, Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada approved Bill No. 12066, establishing a unified registry for service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service. The bill garnered the votes of  254 lawmakers.

The new registry will serve as a database containing detailed information on Ukraine’s military personnel where each service member receive a unique electronic identifier.

The registry will be linked up to the State Web Portal of Electronic Public Services, which will allow military personnel and their families to promptly access administrative, social, and other public services.

The registry aims to improve the existing Unified State Register of Conscripts, Reservists, and Draft-Age Citizens. It will also integrate with the electronic healthcare system to provide relevant medical data for conscripts, reservists, and active service members.
