The Border Guards service explained why they did not allow Petro Poroshenko, who had scheduled meetings in Poland and the USA, to leave Ukraine.

In a comment to Ukrainska Pravda, the Border Guards official said that Poroshenko was not allowed to leave the country, as his business trip, which was signed by the head of the Ukrainian parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk, was later canceled.

The official stressed that during the martial law, MPs can go abroad if there are appropriate decisions.

‘Regarding the MP you are interested in, the border guards have confirmation that his trip abroad has been cancelled. That is why he was not allowed to cross the state border of Ukraine,’ he explained.

In turn, MP Rostyslav Pavlenko made public an order confirming the cancellation of Poroshenko’s trip. It was signed by Oleksandr Kornienko, the first deputy speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.

Earlier, the former president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated on Telegram that the border guards do not allow him to leave the country.
