From January 11, new regulations regarding the labeling of tobacco products come into force in Ukraine.

It is an important stage in the implementation of European Commission Directive 40/2014, which provides for a set of measures to protect the population from the harm of tobacco products and electronic cigarettes.

From now on, on cigarette packs, manufacturers must place updated graphic images with the text of medical warnings about the harm and consequences of smoking on 65% of the pack area, as well as a QR code that leads to the service of the Center for Public Health regarding the provision of assistance for quitting smoking.

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine also approved 14 sets of medical warnings (texts and illustrations) developed by the Ministry of Health, technical requirements for the design and form of labeling, as well as the procedure for placing warnings by tobacco product manufacturers.
