The Security Service of Ukraine has arrested five people who are suspected of treason and transfer of information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the Russian special services.

The FSB of the Russian Federation used an agent network, which consisted of five Ukrainians and operated simultaneously in Odesa, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. All the participants collected intelligence on the location and movement of the Ukrainian defense forces.

They were interested in the geolocations and functioning of industrial enterprises where heavy military equipment of the Ukrainian troops is repaired. The agents also collected data on the results of Russian strikes and provided coordinates for new Russian missile attacks.

According to the SBU, the members of group acted separately to preserve the conspiracy, but were accountable to one FSB supervisor.

The Security Service continues investigation into the case. The suspects may face life imprisonment.
