One 78-year-old woman was killed and 12 elderly persons are in critical condition after Russian troops shelled a nursing home in Sumy on Thursday
According to regional governorVladimir Artyukh the place was home to 211 people with 87 of them now requring urgent help after the Russian attack. The evacuation effort is underway.
Rescue workers, medics, and police are on-site, and an emergency response center has been set up to to provide support to the elderly people.
