The Ukrainian General Staff reports that fewer than 10% of Ukrainian conscripts listed as “conditionally fit” for military service are disqualified from service after a reassessment.

According to Roman Horbach, the General Staff’s senior personnel officer, the remaining 90% are found to be fit for duty.

Ukraine’s conscription law received an update earlier this year, removing the provision that granted medical exemptions to conscripts listed as “conditionally fit.” Horbach stated that the Ukrainian army now has a nine-month plan allowing the Medical Forces Command to carry out all the reassessment procedures according to the amended conscription policy.
