Situation remains tense near Kurakhove – frontline update

Wednesday has already seen at 51 combat clashes along the frontlines, with the situation remaining ‘serious’, said Ukraine’s General Staff in its latest update.

• Border Areas: Russian artillery continues to target border villages, while Russian forces also bomb their own Kursk region.
• Kharkiv Direction: Russian forces launched one unsuccessful attack near Vovchansk.
• Kupiansk: Ukrainian forces repelled 15 attacks near Novoosynove, Kolisnykivka, Pershotravneve, Pishchane, Kruhlikivka, Zelenyi Hai, Vyshneve, Bohuslavka, and Zahrizove. Nine additional clashes continue.
• Lyman: Russian forces attempted five attacks near Katerynivka, Hrekivka, Terny, and Zarichne.
• Siversk: Ukrainian forces thwarted two Russian attacks near Verkhnokamianske and Bilohorivka, with one battle ongoing.
• Kramatorsk and Toretsk: No offensive activity reported so far today.
• Pokrovsk: Russian forces launched 11 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from positions near Myroliubivka, Promin, Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Sukhyi Yar, Novohrodivka, and Selydove. Ukrainian forces held off nine attacks, with two engagements still active.
• Kurakhove: Ukrainian defenders faced 21 attacks near Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Illinka, Maksymilianivka, Hostre, Yelyzavetivka, Dalne, Antonivka, and Katerynivka. Russian forces also launched airstrikes on Romanivka and Kurakhove, using five guided bombs.
• Vremivka: Ukrainian units repelled two Russian assaults near Bohoyavlenka.
• Huliaipole: Russian forces launched an unsuccessful attack on Charivne.
• Orikhiv: Russian airstrikes targeted Mala Tokmachka and Preobrazhenka, with a total of 14 bombs deployed.
• Prydniprovske: Ukrainian forces successfully repelled three attacks in this sector.
