2 dead, 8 injured in Russian strike in Sumy

The city of Sumy is dealing with a critical situation after a Russian airstrike targeted a local enterprise on the early moring Friday.

According to the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the attack claimed the life of a 48-year-old woman who died from wounds sustained in the attack. Rescue workers later discovered the body of a 37-year-old woman buried under the rubble at the site. The search and recovery efforts continue as the city grapples with the aftermath of this brutal assault.

Eight more people were injured in the incident, and emergency services are still working on the scene trying to extinguish the blaze caused by the strike.

Residents of Sumy have been urged to remain indoors and keep windows and doors tightly shut due to heavy smoke in several neighborhoods.
