2 people killed and 2 wounded after Russian strikes in Donetsk region

In the past 24 hours, Russia launched 24 fire attacks hitting 6 towns and villages in Donetsk region.

According to the local police, 2 civilian residents were killed and 2 wounded during the strikes.

The invaders targeted Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Myrnohrad, Katerynivka, and Novobakhmutivka.

With the use of aircraft, drones, S-300 missiles, rocket launchers and heavy artillery, Russians damaged 39 civilian objects, including 20 residential houses, a kindergarten, a school, industrial and agricultural facilities.

The police continue evacuation efforts in the region. During the day, 83 locals moved to the safer areas of Ukraine.

On October 6, the Administrative Cassation Court within the Supreme Court of Ukraine continued hearing case No. 990/80/25, in which the fifth President and leader of the party “European Solidarity”, Petro Poroshenko, seeks to have Presidential Decree No. 81/2025 from February 12, 2025 — enacting sanctions by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) — declared illegal and annulled. The plaintiff claims the document was falsified and that the sanctions are a tool of political persecution of the opposition, contrary to international norms. Government representatives deny the allegations and insist their actions were lawful. Journalists of Bukvy were present at the hearing.
