3rd Assault Brigade top officer criticizes selective conscription practices in Ukraine

Dmytro Kukharchuk, Commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade, has offered a scathing judgment of the current conscription campaign in Ukraine, arguing that it is being selectively enforced.
According to Kukharchuk, conscription officers’ patrols are avoiding wealthier neighborhoods and focusing primarily on commuter towns.
In a statement posted on Telegram, Kukharchuk questioned why patrols and conscription office units are not inspecting “restaurants,” “business centers,” “gyms,” and other exclusive areas of Kyiv, such as Novopecherski Lypky. He believes finding army recruits in these areas could help “ease” tensions in the society and enhance the “combat potential” on the front line.
“These issues require expanding the authority of conscription offices to allow the use of guns in cases where officers face violent obstruction, as those types [of groups of people] will surely resort to it,” claimed Kukharchuk.
