Belarus has announced it is ramping up its military presence at the border with Ukraine. According to the latest statements, Belarusian forces are now bolstered with additional troops, aircraft, and military equipment, signaling a significant increase in their operational readiness.

Belarusian Air Force commander Gen.Andrei Lukyanovich revealed that the deployment includes anti-aircraft missile systems and radio-technical units. “The group has been significantly increased, and they are currently on duty at the southern borders of our country,” Gen. Lukyanovich told state-owned broadcaster CTV.

This move follows recent comments from Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko, who claimed that nearly one-third of Belarus’s armed forces had been stationed in the country’s eastern order regions though the claim was promptly dismissed as ‘false’  by Ukrainian officials.

This development was another step in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, aimed at protecting key elements of the air defense system from debris damage.
