Car bomb kills a Russian Navy officer in occupied Crimea – reports

The car exploded in Simferopol on Wednesday killing its driver who later turned out to be a Russian Navy officer.
Eyewitnesses said people tried to assist the driver immediately after the explosion, but his injuries were fatal – the blast ripped off his legs. According to preliminary information, the vehicle was blown up by an explosive device that was remotely controlled.
The explosion created a hole in the vehicle’s underside, a clear sign that a bomb had been planted underneath.
