Defense ministry audit revealed violations worth UAH 10 billion

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Yurii Dzhyhyr, said that due to the implementation of the audit recommendations, the Ministry of Defense achieved the economic effect in the total amount of more than 1.5 billion hryvnias.

Dzhyhyr noted that the work of the internal audit is a ‘rather routine standardized process’.

Recently, the management approved a plan for audits in risky areas.

According to this plan, by the end of last year, the Internal Audit Service had conducted audits of such processes as the calculation and payment of additional remuneration for the direct participation in hostilities, procurement of food for military personnel, functional management of state-owned enterprises, and in other spheres.

It is noted that violations, inefficient management decisions and risks in asset management totaling more than UAH 10 billion were revealed during audit.
