Ukraine’s major energy company DTEK admitted the its thermal power plants suffered significant damage after they they targeted by barriages of Russian missile on Frday. In its dry statement, the company said the attack wrecked some key ‘equipment’. Luckily, no casualties have been reported among the staff.
“After the shelling subsided, our energy teams promptly began repairs and recovery work to restore operations,” said DTEK.
This marks the 12th large-scale attack on Ukraine’s energy system in 2024 and the ninth targeted assault on DTEK’s energy facilities this year.
After Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Russian troops have attacked DTEK thermal power stations over 200 times.
