Enemy focuses on Pokrovske and Kurakhove, engages in 193 clashes – frontline update

In its frontline update on September 3, Ukraine’s General Staff admitted that the situation remains tense in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove sectors, where Russian forces are concentrating their main offensive efforts. The enemy is also actively attacking in the Lyman sector.

At least 193 combat clashes have occurred across various fronts over the course of the day.

• Kharkiv Sector: Russian forces attempted two assaults near Vovchansk without success. Additionally, one air bomb was dropped on Makarove and Male Vesele.
• Kupyansk Sector: The enemy launched eight attacks on Ukrainian positions. Seven assaults near Synkivka, Hlushkivka, and Berestove were repelled. Fighting continues near Stelmakhivka.
• Lyman Sector: Russian forces attacked Ukrainian defenders 27 times today across eight different locations. The most intense fighting occurred near Hrekivka, Nevske, and Novosadove, with six, nine, and five clashes, respectively.
• Siversk Sector: The enemy attempted five assaults to dislodge Ukrainian defenders near Verkhnokamianske, Ivanodarivka, and Spirne, but faced stiff resistance and retreated.
• Kramatorsk Sector: Ukrainian forces repelled seven enemy attempts to advance, with the main focus near Chasiv Yar. One attack each was carried out near Andriivka and Klishchiivka.
• Toretsk Sector: The occupiers launched 14 attacks on Ukrainian positions near New York, Nelipivka, and Toretsk, with 12 clashes already concluded. Fighting continues near New York.
• Pokrovske Sector: The enemy focused their efforts here, launching 60 attacks throughout the day. Most of the clashes happened near Novohrodivka and Mykhailivka, with 12 ongoing battles.
• Kurakhove Sector: Russian forces remain highly active here, with 46 attacks recorded so far, three of which are ongoing. The battles mainly took place near Kostyantynivka, Ukrainsk, and Heorhiivka. The enemy deployed armored vehicles, resulting in the destruction of ten BMPs, one APC, three motorcycles, and damage to a tank.
• Vremivka Sector: The Russian troops attempted ten assaults on Ukrainian defensive positions near Vuhledar, Vodyane, and Kostyantynivka.
• Orikhiv Sector: Ukrainian forces halted six Russian attacks near Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, and Novoandriivka.
• Dnipro Sectors: Enemy units conducted five unsuccessful attempts to break through to the island area.

Ukrainian forces continue their operations on the Kursk sector.

The General Staff specifically recognized the effective combat work of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.
