Energy facilities under attack in Dnipropetrovsk and Ternopil

In a string of recent attacks targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Russian troops damage energy facilites in in Dnipropetrovsk and Ternopil, said energy operator DTEK on Tuesday.
DTEK repair team was attacked with drones as they were repairing power lines near active combat zone in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The drones dropped explosives near their service vehicle, shattering the windshield. Fortunately, the team managed to take cover and escaped unharmed. DTEK stressed that its repair operations always proceed with approval from Ukraine’s Armed Forces and Emergency Services, and crews are equipped with helmets and body armor for protection.
Meanwhile, an overnight Russian attack in Ternopil Oblast struck a major energy facility, leaving up to 70% of the region without power. The facility had been critical to providing electricity to much of the region. Local officials said that “Ternopiloblenergo” energy company sent technical teams to rerout the grid to alternate systems, restoring power to most of the region. Repair efforts are still ongoing as crews work to stabilize the situation.
