The ‘European Solidarity’ faction demands to immediately ensure the full functioning of the parliament and convene a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada to discuss urgent issues.

The statement of the faction states that ‘Servant of the People’ MPs should stop blocking the full-fledged work of the parliament, and the government should immediately report for its activities.

‘Despite the daily Russian shelling of peaceful cities, the destruction of civilian infrastructure (primarily energy), the ruling majority in the Verkhovna Rada did not manage to gather for a meeting and discuss the strengthening of our fortifications, the provision of the Armed Forces with missiles, shells and drones. The demands of the patriotic opposition to convene the parliament and form an actual agenda are ignored,’ the statement says.

‘European Solidarity’ demands an urgent meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to discuss the following issues:

  • The government’s report;
  • Formation of a temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regarding the construction of fortifications;
  • Effective fundraising of local communities to support brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (No. 11075);
  • Adoption of the law banning the Moscow Church in Ukraine (No. 8371);
  • Appointment of parliamentary hearings regarding Ukraine’s fulfillment of conditions for joining the European Union;
  • Adoption of a decision on full coverage of the work of the parliament and the admission of journalists (#10102, 10107).

The party statement also emphasizes that the parliament should meet not once or twice a month, but to work fully.
