Explosions rocked Zaporizhzhia at about 6pm on Friday, leaving seven people dead and four injured, according to Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
The air raid sirens sounded across Zaporizhzhia 30 minutes before the attack, signaling imminent danger. Shortly after, explosions were reported in the area. Fedorov had earlier warned enemy tactical aviation had been active, which meant a heightened threat to the area.
Seven fatalities have been confirmed and four injured individuals are now receiving medical care. Medical teams are attending to injured children, who are reported to be out of danger.
Some communities in the region are experiencing power outages as a result of the strikes. Emergency crews are working to address the aftermath, providing aid to victims and restoring essential services.
