The news that former Ukrainian MP Oleh Lyashko was promoted from lieutenant to battalion commander got a mixed reaction among the military men.
Known for his eccentricities, the lawmakers now leads  a drone systems battalion in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade  The 11th Army Corps confirmed the news his promotion, arguing that his unit “was ranked among the top 10 units in the Ukrainian Armed Forces for its effectiveness” in September.

However, not everyone is entirely pleased with his promotion. Denys Yaroslavsky, a commander of reconnaissance unit, expressed his dismay over the story.

In his post on social media,  the officer sarcastically remarked that Lyashko’s promotion could draw ire from many of those  who have been on the front lines for much longer that the former MP but saw little recognition of their achievments.
