On September 26, Ukraine’s former president, Petro Poroshenko, marked his 59th birthday by visiting the frontline and delivering new equipment to soldiers.

Poroshenko’s team provided the batch of  gear to 11 brigades and battalions fighting along the Sumy border and in the Kursk region. The delivery included FPV drones, “Vanilniy Tsukorok” drone detectors, Shatro electronic warfare systems, night vision  drones, and various transport vehicles for military needs.

“People usually receive gifts on their birthdays, but here on the front, we break with tradition by bringing gifts ourselves. It’s always a pleasure to celebrate with true friends,” Poroshenko remarked during the visit.

The former president was accompanied by his wife, Marina, who helped him in delivering the supplies. In a post on social media, Poroshenko posted a photo with the caption “The best way to start a birthday. After your kiss, I feel ready to move mountains!”

Rinat Akhmetov’s Metinvest Group has completed the construction of an upgraded underground NATO Role 2 hospital in one of the hottest sectors of the frontline. This is the second stabilization point established under the Steel Front initiative in cooperation with the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new facility, funded by Metinvest with an investment of UAH 21 million, is more secure than the first one thanks to its deeper location underground (over 6 meters) and additional fortifications.

Five armored vehicles “Kozak” have received a new mission – thanks to the support of Metinvest, they have been upgraded to full-fledged command and staff vehicles. These upgraded vehicles are now operating on the front line.
