Former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko has announced a new aid package to support Ukrainian forces defending positions near Pokrovsk. Valued at approximately 30 million hryvnas, the latest shipment  includes 1,150 FPV drones, a demining robot, quad bikes for evacuation and assault operations, “Mavik” drones for artillery correction, trench warfare electronic countermeasures (ECM), charging stations, and mobile repair workshops.

In recent weeks, Poroshenko’s foundation has directed assistance to the frontline regions of Sumy and Kharkiv,  but the fronline escalation in the eastern Ukraine made the politician shift his focus to Donetsk. “We are heading back to Pokrovsk, where conditions are dire,” Poroshenko stated. “The Russians continue their assault despite heavy losses. We must do everything in our power to increase those losses.”

The European Solidarity leader also urged the Ukrainian government to pay greater attention to the situation in Donetsk and criticized the idea of establishing a Ministry of Unity. He called instead for the formation of a Government of National Unity to ensure real solidarity and to safeguard and defend Ukraine.

“This equipment will undoubtedly inflict significant damage on the Russian forces,” Poroshenko asserted. “I call on the authorities to focus on the eastern front. We need not a Ministry of Unity, but a Government of National Unity to protect our nation.”
