The Cabinet of Ministers plans to expand the 5-7-9 credit program for distributed generation projects. These are small biofuel power plants, highly maneuverable gas power plants, energy storage systems, etc.
The Ministry of Energy emphasized that since the beginning of spring 2024, Russia has destroyed up to 9 GW of electricity generation capacity in Ukraine.
The government expressed the hope that business will join the restoration of energy capacities and the development of distributed generation.
With the help of state-private partnership, it is suggested that the municipal authorities implement their own projects to increase the energy capacities of the small thermal power plants.
In addition, the issues of war risk insurance and solutions that will allow commercial banks to more actively lend to distributed generation projects were discussed during the meeting.
