The Cabinet of Ministers decided to reduce the number of vacant positions in state institutions by 19,300 starting from April 1.

Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Yermolychev explained that the vacancies cause problems for the ministries.

This situation created economic difficulties and led to the payment of higher salaries.

He added that the Ministry of Finance decided to change the approaches to the payment of civil servants, as inequality in this system was noticed.

The analysis of wages in state institutions showed that some employees are given excessively large salaries without justification. For example, in one of the departments of the regional state administration, an employee received a salary of 11 thousand hryvnias, and additional payments amounted to 620%, which led to a sixfold increase in his salary.

Therefore, the government introduces a wage reform with a new grade system of salaries in state institutions.
