Intense fighting in Lyman and Pokrovsk sectors- Ukraine’s General Staff

In its 4pm update, Ukraine’s General Staff said the number of clashes on the frontline has surged to 56. The most intense fighting is currently taking place in the Lyman and Pokrovsk sectors.

Kharkiv Sector: Since morning, there have been four clashes near Vovchansk, with two ongoing.

Kupiansk Sector: Russian forces unsuccessfully attempted to storm positions near Synkivka.

Lyman Sector: The enemy has attacked around Makiivka, Nevske, Terniv, and the Serebriansky Forest, resulting in 15 clashes so far, with four still ongoing. The situation remains under control.

Siversk Sector: Russian forces made eight attempts to advance near Verkhnokamyansky, Ivano-Daryivka, Spirne, and Viyemka, but faced strong resistance from Ukrainian units.

Kramatorsk Sector: Six attacks have been reported since morning, with four repelled near Chasiv Yar, Kalynivka, and Ivanivske. Two attacks are still ongoing.

Toretsk Sector: Supported by assault and bomber aircraft, the enemy launched seven attacks. Two clashes near New York are currently ongoing.

Pokrovsk Sector is dealing with the most intense fighting with ten attempts by the enemy to storm Ukrainian positions around Kalynove, Vozdvizhenske, Novooleksandrivka, Zhelanne, and Karlivka. Clashes are ongoing in five locations.

Kurakhiv Sector: The enemy has attacked Ukrainian positions near Krasnohorivka attempting a breakthrough.

Vremivka Sector: Two assaults by the enemy near Vodiane and Vuhledar have been repelled, with one battle still ongoing.

Orikhiv Sector: In the area of Mala Tokmachka, the enemy attempted to advance but was pushed back. Meanwhile, they continue to use airstrikes at Huliaipole.

The General Staff said Ukrainian troops are “taking all necessary measures to hold off the enemy’s advance”.
