Lithuania sends new batch of military aid to Ukraine

Lithuania continues to stand firmly by Ukraine, delivering another round of military aid on August 28. The latest shipment includes loaders, anti-drone systems, and foldable beds, among other essential supplies for the Ukrainian military.

In response to Ukraine’s requests earlier this year, Lithuania has already supplied 155mm ammunition, M577 armored vehicles, M113 armored personnel carriers, anti-drone systems, winter equipment, warm clothing kits, Carl Gustaf anti-tank ammunition, RISE-1 remote detonation systems, generators, parts for the disassembled L-39ZA “Albatros” light attack aircraft, loaders, trailers, cots, and additional support equipment, according to the ministry.

On Friday, August 9, the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense announced a new military aid package for Ukraine. It includes anti-drone systems, transport and logistics vehicles, and various other armaments.

The latest aid package consists of:

  • 14 M113 armored personnel carriers;
  • A short-range air defense system with missiles;
  • Electronic warfare systems;
  • Individual drone suppression devices;
  • All-terrain vehicles with spare parts;
  • Cargo trailers and loaders;
  • Rifles, ammunition, and smoke charges.

Since Feb.24,2022, Lithuania has provided Ukraine with military aid worth over €647 million. The total long-term assistance has now exceeded €1 billion.

Notorious supporter of the concept “in order for a cow to eat less and give more milk, it needs to be fed less and milked more” “Servant of the People” Danylo Hetmantsev, under the guise of “business requirements”, registered a draft law on the collection of VAT on all foreign purchases, regardless of their value. In other words, every Ukrainian, buying goods of any value and purpose abroad, when sending them to Ukraine, will have to pay an additional fifth part, or 20% of the cost of the goods.
