Lviv police burns one ton of heroin seized from traffickers

Ukraine’s police said on Wednesday they have seized and later burned what can be called a record haul of heroin, according to Lviv Prosecutor’s Office and Ukraine’s security service.
The drug bust saw the heroin worth ₴2.3 billion seized in Lviv as this western Ukrainian city that was supposed to be a smuggling transit point on the drugs’ way into Europe.
Investigation found that the drugs had been sent to a seaport in Odesa hidden in bags of rice.
Ukrainian police arrested four Turkish nationals who are now facing smuggling charges under art.305, 307 of Ukraine’s the Criminal Code.
