Ukrainian security forces arrested an FSB agent accused of directing Russian attacks on Ukrainian defenders in Kupyansk, Kharkiv region.
The suspect was caught red-handed sending the geolocations of Ukrainian troops in Kupiansk to Russian military intelligence operatives, which would later help them pinpoint them launch targeted missile, bomb, and artillery strikes. The man who turned out to be a local resident between jobs, was tasked to spy on Ukrainian command centers, fortified zones, and firing positions.
His ro-Russian comments on social media caught the FSB’s attention, and its operatives reached out to him offering ‘cooperation’ and financial rewards for each defense location he helped to trace.
Ukraine’s law-enforcement seized his mobile phone containing evidence of his communications with the FSB. Now the spy is facing treason charges under Art. 111 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code.
