Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense faces major procurement issues, with an audit revealing that ammunition worth 45 billion hryvnias may not be delivered.

Opposition lawmaker Oleksiy Honcharenko claimed on Wednesday that it can impact at least 20% of this year’s ammunition deliveries.  He criticized the situation, when the army has to deal withy products and unfulfilled contracts.

“Money has been paid, but where are the goods? What is more, a stockpile of [ammunition] turns out to be shoddy. And they mess up the contract,” added the lawmaker.

The defense ministry inspection documents show issues, such as supply chain disruptions, insufficient raw materials, unprepared production staff, and inadequate manufacturing capacity, were flagged in July. The risks can now threaten critical defense needs, raising urgent questions about accountability.

Notorious supporter of the concept “in order for a cow to eat less and give more milk, it needs to be fed less and milked more” “Servant of the People” Danylo Hetmantsev, under the guise of “business requirements”, registered a draft law on the collection of VAT on all foreign purchases, regardless of their value. In other words, every Ukrainian, buying goods of any value and purpose abroad, when sending them to Ukraine, will have to pay an additional fifth part, or 20% of the cost of the goods.
