Missile attack targets Kyiv: 1 dead, 2 injured

Ukraine’s capital was rocked by a series of explosions after Russia targeted the city with drones and missiles in the morning Friday. According to reports, at least one person was killed an two more injured.

According to Kyiv City Council, the dead body was recovered  in the Holosiivskyi district. Mayor Vitali Klitschko later confirmed two injured persons were rushed to hospitals following the attack.

The assault came after 7:00 a.m., with missile strikes targeting multiple districts of Kyiv. Fires have been reported in the several districts of the city.

“Fires broke out on building rooftops, and cars were set ablaze. Additionally, a heating pipeline was damaged in the Holosiivskyi district. Emergency services are actively working at all affected sites,” Klitschko said in his statement.

Authorities are continuing to assess the extent of the damage, with more details coming later.
