In a startling update from the Donetsk region, over 900 residents in the towns of Chasiv Yar and Kurakhove have flatly refused to evacuate, despite the ongoing threat of artillery and mortar attacks. The revelation came from Nazar Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational Command, during his interview for a telethon news report.
According to estimates, 302 people remain in Chasiv Yar, while Kurakhove still houses 625 residents. On the plus side, neither town currently has children or elderly individuals among the remaining population.
Voloshyn expressed his frustration over the situation, saying that the presense of civilians hinders military operations and exposes them to significant risks in the conflict zone.
