Ukraine faced another sleepless night on Wednesday as Russian forces launched a massive drone attack across the country.  The drones came in waves starting from 7 pm till the early morning as the invaders tried to overwhelm Ukrainian defenses.

Russian forces also fired off an S-300/400 guided missile from occupied Donetsk and a Kh-59 air-launched missile from Russia’s Kursk region, aiming for Chernihiv, while 136 strike drones were launched from Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

By 7 am, Ukrainian air defenses shot down 51 of these drones, while electronic warfare tools helped to send 60 more crashing across different regions of the country. Two drones even went back to Russia.

More than 20 enemy drones remained in the air as of this morning, and Ukrainian forces are busy hunting them down.

The drones flew over a wide swath of Ukraine, including Sumy, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Ternopil, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Chernivtsi regions.

Ukraine’s air force and defense said it deployed its aircraft, anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire units to counter the attack.
