Ukraine has introduced energy consumption restrictions for industrial and business consumers in Kyiv, as well as in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions on Wednesday.

According to Ukrenergo, these power shut-offs will be in effect from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm as businesses are urged to reduce their power consumption.

These measures are necessary as the country is facing a power deficit in the energy system, resulting from previous Russian attacks and the “recent drop in temperatures”. Ukrenergo stressed that these restrictions will apply only to industrial and business consumers, with no limitations planned for households at this time.

“We urge everyone to use energy wisely, especially during peak consumption hours,” its statement added.
