Residents of Pokrovsk urged to evacuate as Russian troops close in

Residents of frontline Pokrovsk have been urged to evacuate immediately on Thursday, according to Pokorvsk administration head Serhiy Dobryak, who said it is urgent as Russian troops are now” just some 10 kilometers from the town’s outskirts”.

“We see that the enemy has almost reached our community, coming dangerously close to the town of Pokrovsk,” wrote Dobryak. “The shelling has been relentless, targeting critical infrastructure and residential areas. People are losing their lives.”

Dobryak called on families with children and the elderly to escape from the town and provided hotline contacts for those seeking assistance with evacuation and humanitarian aid.
