Russia dials up pressure at Kurakhove- frontline update

On Friday, 123 Russian attacks were reported across the frontline, according to Ukraine’s General Staff. The fiercest figthing is taking place in the Kurakhove sector, which accounts for a third of all combat engagements.

Border regions of Sumy and Chernihiv continue to suffer from Russian artillery strikes that target communities of Mykolaivka, Velyka Pysarivka, Riasne, Porozok, and others. Lugivka was targeted twice by multiple rocket systems (MLRS).

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian troops are assaulting Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk, with two ongoing clashes.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions seven times. Ukrainian units repelled assaults near Stepova, Novoselivka, Synkivka, and Lozova. Five engagements are still underway.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops have repelled eight attacks near Cherneshchyna, Hrekivka, Druzheliubivka, and others, with three ongoing battles. The situation remains under control.

Ukrainian forces successfully fended off an enemy attack near Vyiimka in the Siversk sector.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces used aviation attempting three assaults near Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora.

The Toretsk sector saw six enemy attacks, with Russian forces targeting Dachne, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka. Three attacks have been repelled, and three battles are still raging. Russian aviation bombed Toretsk and Kleban-Byk.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy made 21 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from positions near Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretske, and other settlements. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 16 attacks, with five battles still ongoing.

The heaviest fighting is in the Kurakhove sector, where Russian forces attacked 40 times, attempting to advance near Tsukuryno, Zhelane Pershe, and other villages. Ten assaults are still ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked Ukrainian positions near Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Bohoyavlenka eight times.

On the Orikhiv sector, the enemy struck Pyatykhatky with unguided rockets and unsuccessfully tried to advance toward Mala Tokmachka, Lobkove, and Novodanilivka.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue operations in the Kursk region. Since the start of the day, Russian aviation has conducted 21 airstrikes, dropping 27 guided bombs on Russian territory.
