Russia launches a new missile attack on Kyiv

In the early hours of August 5, Russian forces launched a missile attack on Kyiv and its suburbs. Preliminary reports indicate that ballistic weapons, potentially Iskander-M or KN-23 missiles, were used.

The city was on high alert as air defense systems sprang into action. Kyiv’s Military Administration Chief, Sergei Popko, said that the missiles had been intercepted, but details on the weaponry and impact will be clarified in future updates from the Air Forces.

At the moment, there have been no reports of destruction or casualties in Kyiv. City official are now gathering and verifing the details on the damage. Popko urged everyone to take air raid signals seriously and always head to shelters.

In a related development, Kyiv officials reported that a “group of Russian “Shahed” drones” was heading towards Kyiv through Chernihiv region.
