Ukraine’s nuclear energy operator ‘Energoatom’ made a statement that Russia spreads fakes about attacks on the Zaporizhzhia NPP and manipulates the International Atomic Energy Agency.
‘Recently, Russia has brought its propaganda to a new level. It manipulates the opinion of the IAEA and the world community, trying to accuse Ukraine of violating nuclear safety at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, which Russians seized with the use of weapons,’ the statement says.
The Kremlin’s false statements regarding the alleged drone attacks by Ukraine are nothing more than an attempt to hide their own intentions to carry out a terrorist attack or to hide emergencies that have already occurred at the plant.
Energoatom claims that using propaganda, Russia is trying to hide the actual seizure of the nuclear plant by the Russian military and turning it into a military base. The invaders do not admit IAEA representatives to the plant’s facilities and ignore the adopted resolutions.
Energoatom stresses that the only way to prevent a nuclear and radiation accident is to implement the IAEA resolution, withdraw the Russian military and military equipment from the station, transfer the ZNPP to the control of Ukraine, and de-mine the surrounding areas.
