Russia used chemical weapons 815 times since the beginning of full-scale war

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, mobile groups and other units have recorded 815 facts of the use by Russia of ammunition equipped with poisonous chemical substances.
229 case were registered in January of 2024.
Most often, Russians use grenades, which contain the dangerous chemical substance CS, prohibited for warfare (combat operations) by paragraph 5 of Article 1 of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
The Ukrainian reconnaissance units take samples of soil and vegetation, gather ammunition fragments and send them for analysis.
The documented cases of the use of dangerous chemicals are submitted to investigative bodies for further investigation.
