Russia uses North Korea missiles to kill civilians, – Ukraine’s security

The Security Service of Ukraine has documented the facts of the Russian air strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine using Hwasong-11 (KN-23/24) North Korea missiles.

As stated by the SBU, Russia has already fired more than 20 North Korean missiles killing at least 24 and wounding more than 100 civilians.

The first documented case of the use of North Korea missiles was the attack on Zaporizhzhia on December 30.

In January, a North Korea made missile hit an apartment block in Kyiv. 4 people were killed and more than 50 injured.

Russian invaders also attacked with North Korea missiles residential buildings in five front-line villages of Donetsk region, resulting in the death of 17 civilians.

In Kharkiv, 3 civilians were killed and more than 60 wounded after Russian strikes with North Korea rockets.

On October 6, the Administrative Cassation Court within the Supreme Court of Ukraine continued hearing case No. 990/80/25, in which the fifth President and leader of the party “European Solidarity”, Petro Poroshenko, seeks to have Presidential Decree No. 81/2025 from February 12, 2025 — enacting sanctions by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) — declared illegal and annulled. The plaintiff claims the document was falsified and that the sanctions are a tool of political persecution of the opposition, contrary to international norms. Government representatives deny the allegations and insist their actions were lawful. Journalists of Bukvy were present at the hearing.
