Russian troops executed six captured Ukrainian soldiers on the Pokrovsk front, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The brutal murder took place on October 23, during a Russian assault near the town of Selidove where the enemy captured three Ukrainian soldiers and later executed them. In another instance of a war crime, Russian soldiers shot three more captives with automatic weapons on November 1, while storming Ukrainian positions in the same area.
“These actions violate the Geneva Conventions and constitute an international crime,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said in its statement.
The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office has launched a preliminary investigation into the incident.
