Russian missile attack on Chernihiv: at least 13 killed, 61 wounded

On Wednesday morning, the Russian military hit the center of Chernihiv with a missile strike. Three enemy missiles targeted the residential area.
As of now, it is known about 13 killed and 61 wounded. Among the wounded, there are 2 children. The rescuers have already saved 3 people from under the rubble.
The emergency team continues the search and rescue operations as there still can be people under the rubble.
City mayor Oleksandr Lomako said that the strike hit a hospital and several apartment blocks in the neighborhood.
Governor Viacheslav Chaus stated that the city was targeted with 3 Iskander cruise missiles.
On October 6, the Administrative Cassation Court within the Supreme Court of Ukraine continued hearing case No. 990/80/25, in which the fifth President and leader of the party “European Solidarity”, Petro Poroshenko, seeks to have Presidential Decree No. 81/2025 from February 12, 2025 — enacting sanctions by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) — declared illegal and annulled. The plaintiff claims the document was falsified and that the sanctions are a tool of political persecution of the opposition, contrary to international norms. Government representatives deny the allegations and insist their actions were lawful. Journalists of Bukvy were present at the hearing.
