They are menace for Kharkiv and now their longer range leaves no neigborhood safe.  Russia has started to used its recentlhy modified aerial FAB-500 bombs for attacks in Kharkiv. Known as a drop-and-forget bomb, it was previously used only at Kupyansk.

The news came from Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration in his interview for the state TV.

“The enemy is now using guided FAB-500 aerial bombs against Kharkiv, and the weapon has an incredibly destructive force,” he warned.

Their longer range can make things for Kharkiv residents even harsher.

“After they were given an upgrade, these bombs can go gliding up to 80 km, putting every inch of Kharkiv within their range. This is why our air raid alarms, which can last up to 16 hours a day,  mean a real and urgent threat.”
