The Security Service of Ukraine detained a saboteur who set fire to strategic energy facilities in Odesa region.

The detainee turned out to be a citizen of a neighboring European country who lived in Ukraine and worked for the FSB of the Russian Federation.

In April 2024, he set fire to 2 energy facilities that provided electricity supply to 8 settlements in the area.

In this way, Russian special services tried to disrupt power supply to hundreds of residential buildings, hospitals, heat-generating enterprises, hydro structures, and gas supply facilities.

The man is accused of sabotage and may face life imprisonment.
