Ukraine’s Security Service  and National Police exposed a gang plotting an attack on a family of volunteers. The suspects planned to plant improvised explosive devices at the home of the former Ukrainian serviceman whose wife manages a charitable foundation aiding Ukrainian military personnel. The gang members were allegedly squeezing the lady for money over the debt related to renovation work on the victims’ home.

The suspects made four explosive devices packed with gunpowder, nuts, bolts, and fuses. Their plan was to throw the explosives into the bedroom while the targeted family was sleeping. During the operation, SBU operatives nabbed the suspects  right as they were preparing to break into the house.

Among those detained were a 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman. During searches, officials recovered explosive devices, materials for their assembly, mobile phones, and other evidence.

The suspects have been charged with attempted premeditated murder that can land them behind bars for life if convicted.

The court has ordered pretrial detention for the accused. Investigations are ongoing.

Notorious supporter of the concept “in order for a cow to eat less and give more milk, it needs to be fed less and milked more” “Servant of the People” Danylo Hetmantsev, under the guise of “business requirements”, registered a draft law on the collection of VAT on all foreign purchases, regardless of their value. In other words, every Ukrainian, buying goods of any value and purpose abroad, when sending them to Ukraine, will have to pay an additional fifth part, or 20% of the cost of the goods.
