Serhii Salavatov, who became a commander of the 107th separate battalion in August, faces suspension after an explosive reports about his alleged ties to the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic”

The Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) admitted that they have no prior information confirming Salavatov’s involvement with any illegal armed groups linked to the “DPR.” However, after Hromadske.ua published their investigation, TDF leadership launched an inquiry into the situation.

In an official statement, TDF Command said: “Given the information published on social media on October 16, 2024, TDF Command has launched an internal investigation. During the investigation period, Serhii Salavatov will be suspended from his duties. A final decision will be made based on the outcome of this investigation.”

The earlier report by Hromadske.ua revealed that Salavatov had contacts with separatists in Donetsk.  Starting in 2014, his social media profiles displayed posts shared from pro-Russian and separatist groups. Salavatov later deleted the posts, claiming his ex-wife got access to his social media accounts to share those posts.

Reporters learned that Salavatov allegedly made phone calls to Mezhlum Damirchan, a senior official of the DNR internal ministry- the latter is now on the wanted list in Ukraine.

Adding to the controversy, phone records showed that Salavatov called hotlines to enlist in the so-called “people’s militia” in May, 2014.

It is also alleged that Salavatov was in touch with Anton Kalchenko, a “DPR” militant, and Oleksandr Alekseiev, a member of the so-called Kramatorsk “General Assembly” that helped create the “people’s militia” in Donetsk. Salavatov denied he knows neither of the men.

His phone number was also listed on  a Russian recruitment website for militants and mercenaries. The mounting evidence suggests that Salavatov even participated in the 2014 “independence referendum” in Donetsk.

A kamikaze drone flies directly toward an armored personnel carrier. But instead of penetrating the hull, it explodes on a steel screen. The crew survives. This is the new reality for Ukrainian forces, who have received enhanced protection thanks to the Metinvest project within “Steel Front of Rinat Akhmetov”.

To commemorate the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion, “Bukvy” has compiled data on the largest donors supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among them there are charitable foundations and businesses. The list includes, in particular, foundations that provide assistance exclusively from their own resources, without fundraising (such as SCM by Rinat Akhmetov, Epicenter, etc.).

In just 1.5 months, Ukrainian specialists have created an innovative protective shell for the control modules of anti-aircraft missile systems (AMS) Patriot and Iris-T SLM. This development was another step in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, aimed at protecting key elements of the air defense system from debris damage.

Military serviceman of the International Legion for the Defense of Ukraine with the call sign “Paradox” is the crew commander of the American M113 armored personnel carrier. He is a master at using it and is constantly improving, because the legionnaire’s skills are tested every day in battle. You have to drive to the front lines, often under artillery fire and drone attacks.

Notorious supporter of the concept “in order for a cow to eat less and give more milk, it needs to be fed less and milked more” “Servant of the People” Danylo Hetmantsev, under the guise of “business requirements”, registered a draft law on the collection of VAT on all foreign purchases, regardless of their value. In other words, every Ukrainian, buying goods of any value and purpose abroad, when sending them to Ukraine, will have to pay an additional fifth part, or 20% of the cost of the goods.
