“Situation was catastrophic”: Azov Brigade on the situation at strategic New York village

The 12th Azov Brigade said on Friday their troops had been deployed to reinforce the defenses of the contested village of of New York, Donetsk region, which helped to ‘stabilize’ the situation and prevent the remaining Ukrainian units from being surrounded by the enemy, according to the Azov statement on social media.
The statement revealed that the situation had been really “catastrophic” but what helped was “high morale, courage, and professionalism” of the Azov brigade soldiers.
The situation though is still serious as Russian forces launch “up to 15 assaults” every day but Ukrainian soldiers are holding their ground and even launch “successful counterattacks”.
“The enemy has repeatedly claimed that they have completely seized New York, but this is just another manipulation by the occupiers. Defense Forces still control part of the settlement and are doing everything they can to liberate Ukrainian territories,” said the statement.
