Ukraine’s State Border sevicce and the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) said on Wednesday that they have exposed a scheme involving the smuggling of vapes valued at ₴24 million in the Lviv region.
The goods, originating from China, were smartly labeled as “liquid chemical mixtures intended for inhalation without combustion, containing nicotine and pre-filled in disposable electronic cigarettes” and were destined for a business in Odesa.
However, laboratory tests revealed the presence of banned flavoring agents in the products, banned under Ukrainian regulations. The seized goods include
- Nearly 176,000 units of product worth over ₴12 million.
- Over 170,000 electronic cigarettes valued at approximately ₴12 million.
Law enforcement agencies continue their pre-trial investigation, working to identify all individuals involved in the smuggling operation.
