Sweden allocates 42 million euro to support Ukraine’s energy sector

The Swedish government has decided to provide a new aid package for the needs of the Ukrainian energy system.
Within this assistance, the partners will direct about 42.5 million euros to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine, created at the initiative of energy minister Herman Halushchenko and European Commissioner Kadri Simson.
Another 12.7 million euros will be directed to energy support through the UN Development Program in Ukraine.
‘Sweden is a reliable partner of Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression. We thank our Swedish partners for another contribution to strengthening our energy security,’ the Ukrainian minister said.
The provided funds will be spent on energy equipment and restoration of the energy infrastructure of Kharkiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions.
