Two Russia-recruited spies caught snooping on air defenses exposed in Odesa

Ukraine’s security service, the SBU, said Tuesday that it has detained two servicemen and their female accomplice after they were caught spying on Ukraine’s air defense positions in Odesa. Recruited by Russia’s intelligence service, the FSB, the spies would drive around the southern port city and its suburbs, quietly taking photos of military-related sites and adding geo-tags on maps that would later could help pinpoint Russian strikes.

Their female accomplice used different wigs as disguises while their group moved around by taxi. The lady was arrested while spying near a military-related site.

SBU operatives raided the apartments of the spies and found mobile phones used for secret correspondence with an FSB officer. The spies are now facing life imprisonment under Article 111 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.
