Two female spies working for Russian military intelligence  have been arrested in Pryluky, Chernihiv region, after they were caught gathering information on the locations of Ukranian troops and pinpointing  missile and drone attacks against Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

The suspects were recruited via Telegram odd jobs channel that promised an extra cash for odd jobs.  Acting on instructions from their Russian handlers, they were tasked with gathering coordinates of Ukraine’s defense forces in the north.

The ladies didn’t stop at simple surveillance. They were also instructed to install hidden cameras near military sites, recording footage on flash drives for later handoff.  It helped Russian troops pinpoint the locations of troop deployments and mobile anti-aircraft units safeguarding northern Ukraine’s skies.

During their raid, SBU operatives arrested both of the spies and seized their mobile phones containing hard evidence of their collaboration with the GRU.

The SBU has charged the women with high treason under wartime conditions under Article 111, Part 2 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code. If convicted, they face life imprisonment and confiscation of their property.
